Today, I received an unsolicited phone call (which I playfully refer to as "Tamaden", a term I use to mean "an order received by a random（'tamatama"in Japanese) phone call") from a foreigner. She mentioned finding my contact details in a phone directory. She requested translations of employment verification and pay slips to be done "by tomorrow". Given the limited information possible over the phone, I asked, "Where do you reside? I'm in Seishin-cho," to which she responded, "I live in Seishin-cho too!" Consequently, we decided to meet at the local community center.
Upon our meeting, she brought the original certificates. I asked her to bring photo copies of all the documents, and we agreed to reconvene an hour later at the same location. During our follow-up, we went through the copies, marking sections as "needed" or "not needed". We settled on delivering the translations by noon tomorrow, with payment in cash upon delivery and me handing over a receipt.
The foreigner's wufe, who resides in Japan, expressed gratitude, saying, "It was great to meet in person and have things explained!" This interaction made me realize the significant demand for such services.
After all, this is Nishi-Kasai!
