One of the characteristics I've begun to understand in my dialogues with Chat-GPT about translation (hereafter referred to as "AI") is that the AI occasionally errs in determining where to place emphasis based on context. For instance, today I encountered a situation where the term "higher" could imply either "higher compared to others" or "higher compared to its past state".
While this distinction might be relatively obvious to humans, the AI had interpreted it as the former when, in fact, the context suggested a temporal comparison. When I pointed this out, the AI promptly acknowledged its error. Given the complexity of the text, it's possible that the AI simply overlooked this detail.
Throughout our discussions, there are times I realize my own mistakes, making these exchanges a stimulating form of "intellectual wall ball". The answers provided by AI are not infallible, but I've found our dialogues to be immensely valuable.
