It has been over two years since I embarked on my journey with online English lessons. To date, I have accumulated 271 hours of study and completed 650 lessons, following a schedule of six days a week. While I’ve deliberately tried to experience a variety of teaching styles by rotating instructors, the reality is that out of the 650 instructors I’ve encountered (approximately 100 unique individuals), only five have truly stood out as exceptional.
At first glance, most online English instructors seem to possess high proficiency in conversational English. However, when discussions shift to more complex, thought-provoking subjects—such as environmental issues—their conversational ability and teaching acumen begin to reveal clear disparities.
The five instructors I’ve singled out share the following qualities:

Exceptional Fluency: They express their thoughts fluently and seamlessly in English, regardless of the topic. They deliver each concept with clarity and completeness.

Balanced and Engaging Teaching Styles: While maintaining a consistent structure in their lessons, they avoid falling into predictability. Their creative approaches and adaptability keep each session fresh and engaging, making the learning experience both dynamic and structured.

A Student-Centered Approach: They prioritize student participation by asking open-ended questions and encouraging discussion. They adeptly adapt their teaching methods based on the student’s individual needs, demonstrating a remarkable depth of expertise and versatility.
Moving forward, I plan to focus my efforts on learning with these standout instructors. Their ability to challenge and guide me effectively has proven essential to my growth, giving me a renewed appreciation for those rare instructors who truly elevate the experience.
